UiTM student stretchered down from Gunung Pulai after fainting

BALING: A 22-year-old female student from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) fainted during a climb at Gunung Pulai here earlier today.

Kedah Fire and Rescue Department public relation officer Nur Hafizah Mohammad Lukman said the victim, Nurul Ashikin Mohd Razali, was part a group consisting of 37 students from UiTM Pauh branch campus in Penang.

"The victim fainted after climbing about 500m away from the foot of the mountain, believed to be due to tiredness.

"The Baling Fire and Rescue Department received information on the incident at around 12.23pm and arrived at the scene about 10 minutes later.

"By the time the rescue team arrived however, the victim had already regained consciousness," said Hafizah.

Hafizah said the victim, who was still weak, was safely brought down the mountain using a stretcher and was immediately sent to the Baling Hospital.

The rescue operation ended at around 7.08pm
