Ramadan treat for SK Kangkar Pulai's needy children

JOHOR BARU: A group of SK Kangkar Pulai students from needy families recently enjoyed a Ramadan treat hosted by the Pulai Springs Resort, here.

The resort has an annual tradition of sharing festive goodwill with underprivileged people in its neighbourhood. When the school was invited, they identified the needy students including orphans, as well as children with special needs and from low-income families.

The young guests were accompanied by their family members, headmistress and eight teachers.

“Our team believes in the spirit of sharing and caring, especially during festive occasions when underprivileged children need more love and attention,” said Pulai Springs Resort general manager, Sunny Soo.

He said the resort aims to celebrate the festive season with less fortunate children and let them feel a sense of belonging in their community.

SK Kangkar Pulai headmistress Rohani Shamsudin said she was grateful that the students were given an opportunity to dine at the resort.

“The students are very excited to be guests at the Pulai Springs Resort and we wish to thank the resort's management and staff for their generosity, which goes a long way to help our needy families have a better Ramadan season,” said Rohani.

Soo then presented the children with "duit raya" of RM50 each, a sum contributed by the resort and members of the resort’s Sports & Welfare club.

Each child also received goodie bags filled with story books, stationery items, snacks and a RM100 Aeon shopping voucher. The vouchers were sponsored by a generous long-stay resident of the Cinta Ayu Apartments in Pulai Springs Resort.

The children’s families were also presented with gifts of essential food items to help ease their burden in preparing for the coming festive season.
