Doctor seriously injured in LPT2 accident

DUNGUN: A 28-year-old doctor suffered serious injuries when his BMW spun out of control and was rammed by a 4WD vehicle near Kerteh early today.

Tuan Badrulzaman Tuan Ismail, a doctor with the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Hulu Kelang, was travelling along KM324.8 of the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) around midnight when the crash occurred.

It was learnt that Badrulzaman's car skidded and rammed into a road divider before spinning in the middle of the highway. A 4WD vehicle coming from the same direction then rammed into the car.

The car, containing a family of three, then crashed into a drain. Abu Al Idqam Ismail, 32; his wife Nur Baiti Aqmar Mahmod, 32; and their 10-month-old son Muhammad escaped with light injuries.

Tuan Badrulzaman however, broke his right arm and leg in the accident. He was rushed to the Dungun Hospital for treatment.

Firemen from the Paka station responded to the emergency call and dispatched five personnel to the scene.
