Vandals leave almost 60 cars scratched in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM: Police are on the hunt for vandals who damaged close to 60 cars parked outside SMK Taman Seri Muda on Wednesday.

The car owners, who are teachers from other schools, were shocked to find deep scratches on their vehicles when they returned to collect their cars after the half-day briefing ended.

Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said the teachers had parked their cars along the already narrow roadside as the school compound could not accommodate any more vehicles.

"Early investigation showed it could be an act of mischief; the cars were vandalised using sharp objects. The road does not have closed-circuit television cameras so we urge those who saw the act to come forward and assist investigations.

"We have so far received five police reports from the car owners," he said.

Shafien was speaking to the media at the Shah Alam district police headquarters Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations earlier today.
