OUR nation celebrates National Day today. Thanks to our founding fathers, we are where we are today.
We are proud that our nation has progressed thus far 59 years since independence. We have overcome challenges in building a strong nation.
The Jalur Gemilang will be flown in households, offices and buildings.
But, do people fly the Jalur Gemilang to show only their patriotism?
For me, it is more than that and this can be demonstrated in other ways.
The priority is to ensure the continuity of our harmony.
The government should ensure that its goal is not derailed.
However, there are groups that want to disrupt this. This must stop.
We should thank the armed forces and police for the peace we have. It should not be taken for granted.
I turn 65 today and my birthday wish is to see the continued harmony and prosperity of our country.
I wish the very best for our beloved country.
