KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 14 people including a driver were injured when their tour bus rammed into a road barrier and flipped just after the Genting Sempah tunnel along the Karak highway this afternoon.
The bus driver is believed to have lost control of the KL-bound vehicle and hit the expressway barrier before the bus turned sideways.
City Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Azizan Ismail said the authorities were alerted to the incident at 3.56pm.
"A team of firemen from Selayang was dispatched to the scene."
He said the victims were rushed to the Selayang Hospital.
The accident sparked a massive seven-kilometre crawl along the highway.
As of 6.30pm, authorities were seen trying to clean up debris of the crash and have moved the overturned bus to the roadside.
So far, only two lanes have been reopened for traffic.
