(Cycling) Harrif delivers at Pasir Puteh

PASIR PUTEH: Harrif Saleh of the Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) lived up to expectations after winning the third stage of Jelajah Malaysia from Gua Musang to Pasir Puteh today.

The sprint specialist edged South Korean Park Sung Baek (KSPO) to victory by half a wheel with NSC-Mycron’s Irwandi Lakasek finishing third in the bunch.

All three riders completed the 169.1km stage at the same time of four hours and 49 seconds.

Harrif’s win placed him in the lead in the points classification with 30 points. He was expected to excel with today’s stage being relatively flat.

Iranian Arvin Moazami Godarzi came in 28th though was just a second behind Harrif’s group.

He remained in charge of the yellow jersey with a total time of 11:58:06s.

The fourth stage tomorrow from Machang to Gong Badak will see the riders covering

125.20km.
