Selangor's Budget 2017 to place equal emphasis on development, management

SEPANG: The Selangor state government’s Budget 2017, which is scheduled to be tabled on Monday, will place equal importance on state development and management.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the budget will emphasise on developing village areas to ensure that rural communities advance in tandem with the rest of the country.

“Normally, in any budget, the largest allocation will go to the management aspect. But this time, the state government will give fair allocation of 50 per cent for development and 50 per cent for management.

“We will increase the spending for development so that we can boost the economic growth of the state and thus, benefit the people,” he said after handing over house keys to 83 recipients of low-cost homes in Taman Jenderam Murni here today.

On another matter, Azmin said he is confident that the Selangor football team will repeat its Malaysia Cup glory against Kedah on Sunday.

Azmin, who is also the Football Association of Selangor president, said he will meet with the Selangor team tonight to give words of encouragement.

“So far, I am satisfied with the performance of the players. We will have a discussion on future plans for the team,” he said.
