Two injured as lorry collides with Penang-bound tour bus in Kuala Kangsar

KUALA KANGSAR: A lorry driver and his assistant were injured when their vehicle collided with a tour bus at KM238.2 of the north-bound North-South Expressway, near here today.

In the 7.45am incident, the bus, ferrying 29 passengers to Penang, crashed with the lorry, which was laden with rice bran.

A Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the bus passengers were unhurt.

The impact of the collision flipped the lorry on its side, throwing the lorry's assistant driver out of the vehicle.

"The assistant driver sustained a leg fracture. Both he and the driver were sent to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital," he said, adding that the bus was traveling from Genting Highlands.

He said the department were notified of the incident about 8am and immediately dispatched a team to help the victims.
