Pregnant nurse, 4-year-old son die in car crash

KUALA LUMPUR: A nurse who was eight months pregnant and her four-year-old son died after their car was involved in a collision with another car at Jalan Kalumpang-Tanjung Malim this morning.

In the 7.45am incident, Husnadia Abd Razif, 30, and her son Muhammad Qhalif Fayyadh Mohd Faizul, were trapped and died in the Perodua Kancil driven by Husnadia.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Perodua Viva involved in the crash, Muhammad Zikrul Fahmi Musa, 21, was reported to be seriously injured while his friend Syarifah Nadia Mohd Abdul, 21, suffered minor injuries.

Both are students of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris in Tanjung Malim, Perak.

Kuala Kubu Bharu Fire and Rescue Station chief, Kamil Hamadan said the firefighters took 15 minutes to extricate the mother and son who were trapped in the car.

“Once removed from the car, the medical officer confirmed the two dead,” he told Bernama.

The condition of Husnadia’s baby (the one she was expecting) could not be determined.

The remains of the mother and son were taken to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital.

It is understood Husnadia worked as a nurse at the Kalumpang Health Clinic, Hulu Selangor. --Bernama
