TAIPING: A five-year-old boy endured half an hour of pain when his left leg was caught in his bicycle rim at his home in Taman Long Jaafar here today.
In the 6.45pm incident, the boy, Fatih Amsyar Noor Hakimi was riding the bicycle with his mother before his foot accidentally got stuck between the rim of the front tyre.
A Taiping Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the boy's mother contacted the department for help, a few minutes after the mishap.
"Five firemen were dispatched to their home and we had to use a bolt cutter to cut the rim and free the boy's leg. His father then took him to the hospital for further treatment." he said.
