(Football) Safee Sali leaves JDT for PKNS for upcoming M-league season

KUALA LUMPUR: National striker Safee Sali has joined newly-promoted Super League side PKNS, leaving Darul Ta'zim (JDT), for the upcoming M-League season.

"We thank Safee for his services to the club since 2013. He played instrumental roles in the club's successes in various competitions," said Darul Ta'zim coach Mario Gomez on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook account today.

Safee, 32, who played in the recent AFF Cup for Malaysia, made 22 appearances, 18 of them from the bench, for Darul Ta'zim in the recent season.

The striker was initially set to return to his former club, Selangor, but the 33-time Malaysia Cup champions could not afford him due to financial issues.
