ANAK wants MACC probe into Felda financial management

PUTRAJAYA: The Persatuan Anak Peneroka Felda Kebangsaan (ANAK) has lodged a report against the Federal Land Development Authority’s (Felda) board of directors over alleged mismanagement of funds, at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here today.

“Our memorandum to MACC is a follow-up to the Auditor-General’s (AG) Report 2015 that highlighted the irregularities in Felda’s financial management.

“We want MACC to expedite the investigations and give us a quick response," said ANAK president Mazlan Aliman.

It was reported the Felda lost millions due to poor planning and execution of projects such as procurement of the Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data collection services, implementation of a broadband project and three other ventures.

The second series of the Auditor-General’s Report 2015 stated that the audit carried out between January and June this year, revealed that planning, implementation, monitoring and management of projects by Felda and its subsidiaries were unsatisfactory, while not meeting the stipulated objectives.

In addition, the report said that the terms of all contracts signed by Felda with Bumitouch Sdn Bhd and Skyline Access Sdn Bhd for the LiDAR services were incomplete, and important clauses were not included to safeguard its interest.

Also present to hand over the memorandum were former Barisan Nasional Senator Datuk Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor, and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia supreme council member Wan Mohd Shahrir Wan Abd Jalil.
