MARAN: Seven Form One students were injured, when the van they were travelling in, collided with a Perodua Myvi near Jalan Kampung Awah, Jengka 19, this morning.
Jengka Fire and Rescue Department station chief Mohd Aidil Khairim said in the 6.45am incident, the students, all females, from SK Kebangsaan Jengka 18, were on their way to the school.
“The department was alerted at 6.53am and a team of six personnel was dispatched to the location.
“When we arrived at the scene, we found the van’s driver and a student, who was sitting at the back, pinned to their seats. The other six students have already been rescued by passers-by.
“It took the personnel some 15 minutes to extricate both of victims,” he said when contacted.
The driver sustained minor injuries.
He said all victims were brought to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh for treatment.
Meanwhile district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mat Rizal Mat Radzi confirmed the incident and said investigation is still ongoing.
