ALOR GAJAH: A soldier died on the spot when the Proton Saga he was driving was involved in a head-on collision near the Machap Dam here at about 1.30pm today.
Three passengers in the Saga were injured in the crash when a Toyota Altis, driven by a woman, coming from the opposite direction, veered into their lane.
The driver of the Altis sustained light injuries, while three children travelling in the same car were also injured.
Alor Gajah Fire and Rescue Station operations director Ramli Yusof said a team of nine personnel were rushed to the scene as soon as a report was received at 1.36pm.
One victim was already dead when the team arrived at the scene, said Ramli.
The others were sent to the Malacca Hospital for treatment
