PUNCAK ALAM: A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured when a garbage truck landed on its side at Jalan Meru, near Felda Bukit Cerakah here this afternoon.
Both the victims were believed to be workers of a sanitation company.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Mohd Hissam Sidik said in the 2pm incident, the victims were pinned inside the cabin of the truck.
"A team of firemen from Bestari Jaya station was dispatched to the scene upon receiving a call at 2.30pm.
"Upon arrival, the team saw the two victims stuck inside the cabin of the overturned truck. Two other workers had been rescued by the members of the public.
"The team then used rescue tools to free the two victims. A team of paramedics later pronounced that the female victim had died at the scene." he said.
Hissam said those injured were rushed to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for treatment.
