KANGAR: Perlis National Border Security Agency (Aksem) has seized 380kg of ketum leaves worth RM19,000 at an empty house in Sungai Mata Air in Padang Besar early today.
Its commander Deputy Superintendent Syed Basri Syed Ali said acting on a public tip-off, a team from Padang Besar Aksem intelligence unit inspected a house in Padang Mawar, Sungai Mata Air.
He said upon inspection, the team found 13 gunny sacks filled with ketum leaves weighing 380kg with streets value of RM19,000 at the unoccupied house.
Syed Basri said the case had been handed over to Perlis police Narcotic Investigation Department for further investigation.
