KULIM: A man escaped with a minor injury from a fire which destroyed his single-storey house and Perodua Axia, and which partially-gutted an adjacent house in Kampung Lama, Lunas, here, late last night.
A state Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a distress call at 11.57pm and the first crew arrived at the scene two minutes later.
"One of the houses was already engulfed in fire, and the firefighters took about 10 minutes to control the blaze at the adjacent home, which suffered about 20 per cent damage.
"The fire also destroyed a Perodua Axia parked in front of the gutted house, while one of the occupants, aged 20, suffered a minor injury to his arm in the incident," said the spokesman.
Investigations on the cause of fire and losses incurred are ongoing.
