PMO to lodge police report on fake letters bearing PM's name

KUALA LUMPUR: Some unscrupulous individuals have taken to disseminating fake letters using the Prime Minister’s name to allegedly seek help from certain individuals to aid in the upcoming general election.

Principal private secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Datuk Iskandar Mohd Kaus, in a statement issued today, said the individual had, also claimed in the letter that loyalty should be given to the Prime Minister.

The letters allegedly using government official's headings and undersigned by the Prime Minister himself were sent out to chairmen and chief executive officers of private and government-owned organisations.

“The Prime Minister has never sent out such letter. This is an attempt to tarnish the Prime Minister’s position for their political gain,” said Iskandar.

The Prime Minister’s Office will lodge a police report with regards to the dissemination of these fake letters.
