PASIR MAS: Six men claimed trial at the Session Court here today to a charge of gang raping a 17-year old student at Pasir Parit in Sungai Batu here earlier this month.
One of the accused, Mohd Nuruddin Mohd Fauzi, 22, faced two charges of rape and another of performing oral sex on the victim.
He was charged with gang-raping the girl at 1am and 3am here on June 3. Both charges were under Section 375B of the Penal Code which provides a maximum sentence of 30 years and the rotan.
Nuruddin also faced a charge of performing oral sex on the victim at 3am at the same place. The charge under Section 377C of the Penal Code carries a maximum sentence of 20 years and rotan.
Five others, Muhammad Yusuf Danial Luqman, 21, Che Kamarul Aiman Che Rasid, 20, Mohamad Tasyrik Mahmud, 20, Muhammad Alif Asmawi Othman, 20, and Wan Hazaki Wan Hanapi, 38, were charged with gang rape of the girl at the same location between 1am and 3am on the same day.
Deputy public prosecutor Haslida Isamail prosecuted while all the accused were unrepresented.
Judge Dazuki Ali did not allow bail and fixed July 16 for mention.
