Man's body, wrapped in blanket, found at Meru sidewalk

KLANG: The body of an unidentified man, wrapped in a blanket, was found on the sidewalk of Jalan Kasban in Meru, early today.

Klang Utara police chief Assistant Commissioner Mazelan Paijan said the victim, in his early 20s, was believed to have been stabbed to death.

He said a passer-by spotted the body at 2am today.

"We believe the victim, a foreigner, was tortured and stabbed multiple times before succumbing to his injuries. There were stab wounds on his chest, stomach, body and arm.

“We believe the killers wrapped the victim's body in a blanket after the murder and brought it with them on a motorcycle to be discarded elsewhere.

“However, the body fell off the bike when they reached Jalan Kasdan.

"At this juncture, a passer-by saw two men trying to pull the body back on their bike. Shocked, they chased him off with a parang.

"Luckily, the passer-by managed to escape,” he said.

Later, the man returned to the scene with some friends and found that the body had been left by the roadside.

“The two suspects had apparently fled the scene. We are in the midst of identifying them. The body is now at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah for post mortem."
