Drunk man nabbed for lobbing rock at RTD vehicle

SUNGAI BAKAP: A drunk man was arrested after he threw a rock at a Road Transport Department vehicle, shattering its rear window, in Jalan Valdor here yesterday.

The man, 36, was arrested an hour later at 4.50pm while riding his motorcycle near the scene.

Seberang Prai Selatan district police chief Superintendent Shafee Abd Samad said investigation revealed that the suspect had, before the incident, approached the RTD vehicle in an angry manner.

He said the man appeared to be mumbling to himself before he walked to the back of the Toyota Fortuner and threw the stone at the window.

“He then fled on his motorcycle. However, an RTD personnel managed to jot down the bike's registration plate before lodging a report.

“Subsequently, we managed to nab the suspect.

"However, we were unable to record his statement as he was too intoxicated."
