Lenggong teacher faces 19 more charges of sexual offences, this time against three male students

KUALA KANGSAR: A science teacher of a school in Lenggong was charged at the Sessions Court here with 19 counts of sex outside the order of nature and outrage of modesty against three of his make students between September 2017 and March this year.

The offences were alleged to have taken place at the school where he teaches and another place in Gerik.

The 41-year-old accused was alleged to have sodomised, performed fellatio on and outraged the modesty of, two male students aged 14 and another 17-year-old between 2am and 11pm on several occasions between Sept 14, 2017 and March 25, this year.

The same man, who has 19 years’ experience as a teacher, had on April 26 been charged with 17 sexual offence charges against a 15-year-old make student between November 2016 and November 2017.

The man had then claimed trial to the charges and was allowed bail of RM48,000 with one surety.

Represented by counsel Sharul Shabaath Ali, the teacher also claimed trial in today’s case.

Deputy public prosecutor Hasyutantee Khalil asked the court to impose bail of RM3,000 for each charge and order the accused to stay away from his alleged victims.

Defence counsel, however, requested for a minimal amount as the accused was now out of work and had only earned a monthly salary of RM3,000 when he was working.

He added that the accused’s bailor was a younger sibling who was a government clerk.

Sharul Shabaath also requested that the court accept a land grant as bail as the siblings did not have money.

Judge Rohaida Ishak, however, rejected this as the court only accepted cash deposits as bail.

She then set bail of RM38,000 with one surety for all the charges and ordered the accused to stay away from the alleged victims.

Rohaida set June 26 for remention for all documents to be handed over to the court.
