KOTA BARU: A businessman is facing the death sentence after he was charged at the Magistrate's Court here with murdering a contractor seven years ago.
The accused, Syaiful Afikin Mohd Firus, 41, nodded after the charges were read out to him before Magistrate Kamarul Hasyime Rosli.
However, no confession was recorded from the accused.
According to the charge sheet, Syaiful and another individual, who is still at large, were jointly charged with murdering 56-year-old contractor Saw Yiew Siang at a garden in Kampung Kubang Palas, Binjai between Oct 3, 2011, and Oct 4, 2011.
