Penang police seize RM300k worth of heroin, Eramin 5, Ketamine [NSTTV]

GEORGE TOWN: Police seized drugs worth RM300,000 and arrested several people during two separate raids here.

In a 12.45am raid in Jelutong on June 10, police nabbed a man at a flat and seized 1,400 Eramin 5 pills and 52.66gm of Ketamine, valued at RM26,260.

State police chief Datuk A Thaiveegan said in a follow-up raid, police arrested three people near the Penang Bridge and seized 1,000 Eramin 5 pills and 200 Ecstasy pills worth RM21,000.

He said police also raided a house in Ayer Itam last Friday and arrested three more people, including a couple.

“During the raid, we managed to seize 18.62kg of heroin worth RM249,500.

“We also confiscated a motorcycle and car, both valued at RM71,600,” he told newsmen here today.

All the suspects, aged between 36 and 47, have been remanded until tomorrow to assist in an investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
