Police hunt two pharmacy robbery suspects

SIMPANG RENGGAM: Police are on a hunt for two men in their 30s to facilitate investigation into a robbery at a pharmacy in Taman Kasih here yesterday.

Kluang police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Abduh Ismail said in the 6pm incident, the two suspects barged into the premise with one of them holding an object which looked like a firearm.

“In the incident, one suspect was aiming an object resembling a firearm at two pharmacy employees in the store room while the other suspect went over to the counter and grabbed the cash register.

“The suspects then escaped in a grey vehicle believed to be a Nissan Sylphy and left the employees unharmed,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Abduh said the pharmacy manager then lodged a police report at the Simpang Renggam Police Station and claimed RM300 losses.

The incident was witnessed by five pharmacy employees and there were no customers at that time.

“However, the manager informed us about the CCTV recording which is centralised in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan and he would retrieve a copy as soon as possible to facilitate the investigation.

“The Forensic Unit from Johor Police Contingent also lifted some fingerprints at the scene and the case is being investigated under Section 395 and Section 397 of the Penal Code,” he said.

He urged the public with information to contact investigating officer Inspector Kasturiah Arif at 013-313 7051 or Kluang Police Headquarters hotline at 07-778 4222.
