BELURAN: A foreigner was recently detained for allegedly raping his friend’s daughter at a workers’ quarters at a plantation in Telupid.
The 55-year-old Filipino, who is also a plantation worker, had allegedly raped the 13-year-old victim several times since July.
It is learned that the suspect would approach the victim at dawn after the girl’s parents had left for work.
After learning about the incident, the victim's father confronted the suspect and took him to the police station.
District police chief Superintendent Kasim Musa said checks showed the suspect was staying at the same block as the victim.
"The teenager and her family came to lodge a police report at Telupid police station at 12.47am on Nov 23." he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of Penal Code for rape.
