Two friends nabbed with pills, cannabis

PASIR MAS: Police detained a local man as well as his 36-year-old Thai friend and seized 50 methamphetamine pills and 31 gramme cannabis here recently.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasaruddin Md Nasir said the two were arrested in a raid at a house in Kampung Lubok Kawah near Alor Pasir.

"A police party raided the house about 11.30pm on Thursday night following public tip-offs.

"After raiding the place, they found the pills and the cannabis worth about RM700. The two men were later arrested," he said in a statement today.

Nasaruddin said initial investigation showed that the 45-year-old local man and the Thai had obtained the drugs from a Thai supplier.

"Both have admitted that they bought the pills and the cannabis from a Thai man known as 'Atan' who lives in Kampung Jeram Perdah," he added.

Nasaruddin said police had mounted an operation to track down the suspect.

He added that the two men, both tested positive with drug, were being held for further action.
