MACC arrests man helping unvaccinated people get MySejahtera certificate

KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a man asking for money to help the public have MySejahtera certification without getting vaccinated.

The 31-year-old suspect, who is one of the syndicate members, is believed to have asked for more than RM2,000 in October last year.

According to a source, he had given the money to a volunteer working at a vaccination centre in Sabah to register names into the MySejahtera database.

He was arrested at 1.30pm at the MACC office following an operation that is being launched today.

Sabah MACC director Datuk S. Karunanithy confirmed the incident, which is being investigated under Section 16(a)(A) MACC Act 2009.

An application for remand is expected to be applied for at the magistrate's court here tomorrow.
