MCKK bully case: Police taking actions on AG's instructions

KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation papers concerning the alleged bullying case involving Form Five students of Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) have been returned by the Attorney General's Department on Nov 9 for further instructions and advice.

Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the department issued specific instructions to ensure the completion of the investigation, including the acquisition of the victim's comprehensive medical report and other necessary actions.

"The investigating officer is currently taking actions in the case.

"The investigation papers will be resubmitted to the Attorney General's Department in the near future once all required actions and reports are obtained," Mohd Yusri said in a statement today.

He said the investigation papers were initially referred to the Perak Public Prosecutions state director on Nov 6.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt which provides for a maximum jail term of one year or a maximum fine of RM2,000 or both, if convicted.

It was reported that three Form Four students were being bullied by four Form Five students at the elite school.

On Nov 7, police have submitted the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor.
