Man with three previous records nabbed with RM14,000 worth of drugs

KOTA BARU: Police have arrested a man and seized heroin, methamphetamine pills, and syabu worth more than RM14,000 here yesterday.

Kota Baru district police chief, assistant commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud, said the suspect was arrested in Pengkalan Chepa at about 10.10am.

"A police party saw a suspected man on a motorcycle near bushes at Kampung Kemumin near Pengkalan Chepa. After inspecting him, the officers found a few plastic bottles and straw tubes containing the drugs.

"They then detained the suspect, in his 30s," he said in a statement today.

Rosdi said the initial investigation showed that the suspect was a drug pusher who is active in the district.

"The suspect, who has three previous records, however, tested negative for drugs," he added.

He said the suspect, a local man, is being held for further action.

"Police are tracking down the individuals who have supplied the drugs to him and also the suspect's clients," he added.
