Disabled man, best friend nabbed with RM22,000 worth of meth pills

PASIR MAS: A person with disability and his best friend were detained on possession of methamphetamine pills worth about RM22,000 here yesterday.

State police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the two, both 21, were nabbed in an operation in Lubok Setol near Rantai Panjang.

He added that the two were travelling in a Honda Civic when detained at Jalan Bukit Tuku.

"A police party was conducting their normal survelliance at the area when they spotted a car about 6.40pm.

"The officers stopped the vehicle and after inspection, they discovered 2,027 of the pills and one Eramin-5 pill. They then arrested the two men," he said, adding that police also seized the vehicle.

Zaki said initial investigation showed that the two, both of whom tested positive for methamphetamine use, have smuggled the pills in from Thailand.

He said the pills was believed to have been for local distribution and could supply more than 2,000 addicts in the state.

On another note, Zaki said police detained a couple, aged 26 and 25, and seized 2,280 methamphetamine pills and 3.9g of cannabis worth about RM25,000 recently.

He said the two were arrested in an operation in Bunut Susu here on Jan 25. Also seized from the couple was a Perodua Kelisa.
