JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested a 32-year-old mother believed to have killed and slashed her one-year-six-month-old son's throat before sending pictures of her blood-soaked child to her husband via WhatsApp.
Johor police chief Commissioner M Kumar said that a report on the incident was received by his department at around 1.30pm yesterday that took place in a residential area in Pasir Gudang, here.
"We also seized a knife at the scene believed to have been used to slash the victim (victim's throat).
"A remand application for the suspect was made today," he said in a statement earlier.
According to Kumar, the case is classified and investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
"So far, the motive of the incident and the cause of death are still under investigation," he said.
He added that the victim's body was sent to the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) Forensic Department here for a post-mortem examination.
