KUANTAN: A middle-aged woman was seriously injuries after the express bus she was travelling in crashed into the rear of a lorry laden with earth at the Kuantan bypass road here today.
Both the lorry and bus driver along with the other passengers escaped unhurt in the incident which occurred at 12 noon.
The accident had caused the lorry to turn turtle.
A state Civil Defence Force (APM) spokesman said the victim in her 50s fractured her left leg and was taken to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for treatment.
He said checks revealed that victim was seated in the front row and the impact of the crash threw her off her seat.
It is learnt that police had recorded a statement from the bus driver while the other passengers continued their journey in another bus.
The bus which was travelling from Kuala Terengganu to Segamat, Johor was scheduled to stop at the Sentral Kuantan Terminal to pick some passengers.
