Ministers: Presence of Malaysians at Raya Open House, an endorsement of unity and harmony in country

PUTRAJAYA: The presence of various races at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House hosted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Cabinet Ministers at the Seri Perdana, here today shows that unity, peace and harmony among the people continues to remain at the optimum level.

Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak believes unity, peace and harmony can be strengthened to ensure the future of the country if the Rakyat continued to remain impartial.

"Today, we seek forgiveness and instil confidence in ourselves that Malaysia will continue to progress and move forward," he told reporters when met at the Hari Raya open house hosted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Cabinet Ministers.

Salleh said it was important for all Malaysians to set aside false and baseless accusations when celebrating festivities like this.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam hoped the open house tradition would be continued as a platform to strengthen unity among the various races.

Dr Subramaniam who is also the MIC president said the presence of various races at the Hari Raya open house hosted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Cabinet Ministers proves that leaders in the country continue to enjoy the support of the people.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai who is also the MCA president said the ability of the various races to celebrate festivities like Hari Raya Aidilfitri in peace and harmony will serve as a platform for the country to progress and move forward.

Liow also reminded motorists returning to their home towns to observe the traffic rules to ensure they arrived safely at their destinations to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with their loved ones. – BERNAMA
