Malaysia Airlines begins Haj Charter operations for 2017

SEPANG: Malaysia Airlines' Haj Charter commenced its operations today with the first flight to Madinah leaving Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) this morning at 6.30am.

The direct flight, MH8000, is scheduled to arrive in Madinah at 1000 (local time) today.

This season, Malaysia Airlines will operate 76 direct flights to Jeddah and Madinah, departing from Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Baru, Alor Star, Kuala Terengganu and Penang, said the national carrier in a statement today.

These Haj flights will be operated by the A380-800 and A330-300 aircraft, each with a capacity of 483 seats and 287 seats, respectively.

For the convenience of its passengers, Malaysia Airlines will also be providing domestic feeder flights operated by the B737-800 aircraft to connect passengers from Johor Baru, Penang, Kuala Terengganu, Alor Star, Kota Baru, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching to KLIA.

The last Haj flight will depart KLIA on August 26.

The second phase of the operations, from the holy land to Malaysia, commences on 7 September 2017 and will be complete by October 4.

Malaysia Airlines, together with Lembaga Tabung Haji, is committed to provide comprehensive superior and comfortable ground and in-flight service for the pilgrims.
