KENINGAU: A district native representative was killed in a single-car accident at Jalan Keningau-Sook here last night.
The deceased was identified as Awadot Basi, 44, from Kampung Kabangawong in Nabawan.
It is believed that Awadot lost control of his vehicle, which crashed into a road barrier and spun violently. He was thrown out of his car as it spun and died at the scene.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Jawila said they received a call on the accident at about 11.30pm.
A post-mortem at the district hospital indicated that the victim died from head injuries.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
