KUALA LUMPUR: Two men hurled a Molotov cocktail into the compound of a surau in Damansara Damai on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred while a congregation of 20 people were performing Subuh prayers at the Surau Al-Huda.
Two men on a motorcycle hurled a beer bottle, modified into a Molotov cocktail, into the compound and fled.
The bottle landed near the surau entrance and a fire broke out.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said no one was injured in the incident.
He said police have recorded statements from witnesses.
Police are investigating the case under Section 435 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire or explosive substance.
