NILAI: A man drowned while fishing at an abandoned pond in Kampung Masjid, Lenggeng here today.
Nilai police chief, Superintendent Zaldino Zaludin, said Ghazan Johari, 24, was fishing with his two friends at the pond when the tragic incident occurred at 3.25pm.
"It is understood that the victim's fishing net was stuck, prompting him to dive into the pool to check on it.
"However, when he didn't surface, his friends immediately called for help," he said.
Zaldino said the victim's body was eventually recovered and his remains have been sent to the Tuanku Ja'afar Seremban Hospital for a post-mortem.
