(Updated) Woman in Klang abduction video found safe

SHAH ALAM: A 49-year-old woman who was captured on video being abducted by three men outside a factory yesterday, was found safe in Kampung Jawa, last night.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said members of the public spotted the victim, S. Jothimani at 10.30pm near the factory in Section 36.

“They heard someone screaming and upon rushing to the location, saw the victim who had sustained injuries and was bleeding.

“The victim was immediately sent to a private hospital in Klang for treatment,” he said today.

Shafien said the victim, a mother of two, was blindfolded and beaten by her abductors.

“They took her handphone and other belongings. The victim claimes she did not know any of her abductors.

“Police are hunting the suspects,” he added.

Meanwhile, the victim’s brother, S. Sathya, 33, said his sister is currently being treated at the hospital.

“She was found alone, near the factory (where she was taken away) in a weak condition.”

Sathya also claimed that the suspects had took the victim’s jewellery and other items.

The case is being investigated under Section 365 of the Penal Code for abduction.

It is learnt that Jothimani received a call supposedly from a delivery service to collect an item she had purchased online.

However, she was abducted by three men in a white Mercedes Benz with the registration number KEE46.

A message, written by a family member requesting anyone with information on the case to contact the family of the woman abducted, along with a 33-second video clip, was widely shared on social media yesterday.

In the footage, the woman can be seen casually approaching a white car, parked outside the factory building.

A man in cap was waiting by the car boot, holding several packages. The man then pushed the woman towards the car door, where another man, who was inside the car opened the car’s rear door and dragged the woman in.

The man in cap then rushed to the driver’s seat. Two men from the building can be seen rushing to stop the vehicle, but the car sped off.

The factory supervisor had then lodged a report at the police station.
