Teen motorcyclist on way to job training course killed in NSE crash

HULU SELANGOR: A teenage motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider seriously injured when their vehicle crashed into the guardrail at Km421.6 of the North South Expressway (NSE) on Thursday morning.

District police chief Superintendent Lim Bak Phai said the 9am crash is believed to have occurred when the motorcyclist, Muhammad Zakuan Ahmad Damanhuri, 19, lost control of his Yamaha LC.

He said due to the impact, Zakuan was flung into the air and landed on the road. He died at the scene.

“The deceased was from Gunung Besout, Sungkai, Perak.

“The pillion rider, also 19, is from Trolak Selatan, Sungkai. He fractured his leg and injured his hand. He was sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment,” Lim said.

“The victims were on a journey from Slim River to Rawang to attend a training course at a fast-food restaurant,” he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
