Youths enamoured by GegaRia Fest's modern, hipster and colourful concept

JOHOR BARU: The GegaRia Fest based on the modern, hipster and colourful concept is the main reason youth’s were attracted to visit the event.

This, apart from the event having a variety of activities which they can take part in.

Visitors began converging the event which took place at Angsana Johor Baru Mall as early as 8am today.

Aina Toher, 16 said she wanted to experience herself what the festival was all about.

She and three of her friends took a bus from Taman Pulai Jaya as early as 8am to get to the event as early as possible.

"There is a lot of interesting backdrops that we can use to take interesting ‘selfie. The bright colours of the festival decorations will also definitely attract passers-by to stop and participate in all the activities available.

"The performance by local artists is also a much-awaited event at this festival. Apart from that youths can also participate in the make-up demonstration, hijab tutorials and try out all the available hipster food ," she said.

Nazatul Natasha Nasaruddin, 22, said she took the opportunity to register as a voter at the Election Commission counter.

"I have a responsibility to register as a voter and it is my obligation as a citizen to vote in the upcoming election.

"Such an initiative provides an avenue for visitors to check on their voting status and make more enquiries about the upcoming general election," she said.

Wan Mohd Zaropi Wan Ismail, 36, said the Throwback Tunnel is one of the must visit place for youngsters.

"Youngsters will learn to appreciate the nation’s development and its history more after visiting the tunnel.

"The interesting photo collection will also give them the view of how nation gaines its independence and how our freedom fighters stryuggled to achive it.

I can easily relate the history to my two children who are three and five years old," he said.
