Battered Malaysian DJ Leng Yein posts grisly photos on Facebook, accuses ex-boyfriend of physical abuse

KUALA LUMPUR: Netizens are in shock after popular deejay Leng Yein posted pictures of herself looking bruised and bloodied.

The photos, which were uploaded to her official Facebook page today, show her head, hands, face and legs covered in blood.

In a lengthy post, Yein claimed that she was physically abused by her ex-boyfriend.

Yein said she wanted to share her story to prevent other women from falling victim to domestic violence.

"This is wrong.

"And I am going to finally do something about it," she wrote.

Yein said she broke up with her boyfriend before undergoing surgery recently.

About four hours before her post, the deejay had live-streamed an argument she had with her ex-partner, which lasted for about 10 minutes.

The pair were seen yelling at each other before Yein locked herself in the bedroom and broke down in tears.

She told her followers that she was in great distress and claimed that her ex-boyfriend tried to force his way into her room.

It is unclear whether the photos of her injuries were taken recently.

The image of her head wound shows her hair dyed blonde, while the colour of her hair during the live stream was pink.

Prior to the incident, Yein had just flown back from Taiwan where she was recovering from a viral infection.

It was reported that the virus had caused her body to develop pus around her neck and back.

Despite having to undergo surgery, she flew to Macau where she shared the stage with Li Yuchun, Rain, Qian Xue and several Hong Kong singers.

She then flew back to Taiwan for a follow-up treatment.

Touted as Malaysia's social media queen, Yein has more than 3 million fans on her Facebook page.
