BUTTERWORTH: Up to 42 motorcycles and four cars were destroyed in a massive fire at an open parking lot in Wisma Telaga Air here, early this morning.
The blaze reportedly spread rapidly and engulfed a nearby store, which was partially damaged in the 2.50am incident.
A state Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said that they received a distress call on the blaze from a member of the public at 2.52am.
He said the fire was brought under control several minutes later.
“However, all the vehicles were 100 per cent damaged,” he added.
He said the cause of the fire is being investigated, and that foul play has not been ruled out.
“We are also still trying to determine the losses,” he added.
