PUTRAJAYA: The new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull clocked in for work today after it was announced last week that he would be coming out of retirement.
He arrived before 10.30am at the MACC headquarters and was greeted by the commission's staff.
"Let me meet the staff today. I will meet you (reporters) tomorrow.
"Do come as I have interesting things to share based on my experience," he told reporters who had gathered at the MACC headquarters.
On how he viewed his new appointment, Mohd Shukri described it would be tough.
Mohd Shukri was named last week by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to replace Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad as the MACC chief commissioner.
Dr Mahathir was quoted as saying that Mohd Shukri had the experiences and information to helm the commission.
Prior to his retirement in 2016, Mohd Shukri held the post of deputy chief commissioner (operations) of the anti-corruption body.
