Cop killed, wife and son injured in Seremban collision

SEREMBAN: An off-duty policeman was killed and his wife and teenage son were injured when their Proton Saga FLX collided head-on with a Nissan Almera at Km15 of Jalan Seremban-Tampin near here, yesterday.

Sergeant-Major Mohd Nor Abd Rashid, 59, sustained internal and chest injuries in the 7.30am crash and died on the spot. His body was sent to the Tampin Hospital.

His wife, Siti Rahja Ujang, 56, and their son, Muhammad Aiman Mohd Nor, 18, sustained head and body injuries and were rushed to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital.

Mohd Nor, from the Rembau police headquarters’ Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, and his family were heading to Seremban when the accident occurred, Rembau police chief Deputy Superintendent Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam said.

The driver of the Nissan escaped unhurt. – BERNAMA
