KUALA KANGSAR: Five members of the family including a baby were killed in an accident at KM255.6 of North-South Expressway northbound near Menora Tunnel.
Perak Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (TEID) chief Superintendent Ahmad Adnan Basri confirmed the incident.
“However, the identities of the victims have yet to be known and they were taken to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Taufiq Abd Sattar said five bodies were found including the baby, who whose remains were found underneath the others.
It was earlier reported a trailer and a car collided, causing both vehicles to go up in flames, blocking traffic in the 11.30am incident. The trailer, transporting iron ore, was headed for Penang from Johor Baru.
