Nine, including two kids, injured in bus-lorry collision in Lipis

KUANTAN: Nine people, including two children, were injured when the bus they were travelling in rear-ended a trailer lorry at Jalan Lipis-Padang Tengku in Lipis, last night.

The injured comprised one man, a boy, a girl and six women. The man was impaled in his shoulder by a piece of metal, which had to be cut before he could be removed.

The bus was heading to Kuala Lipis when it collided with the lorry at about 9.30pm.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department director Nor Hisham Mohammad said that they received an alert on the accident at 9.36pm, and deployed nine firemen from the Kuala Lipis station to the scene.

All victims were rushed to the Kuala Lipis Hospital for treatment.

A total of 40 other bus passengers and the driver of the trailer lorry were unhurt, Nor Hisham added.
