Two killed, four other seriously injured in Sri Aman accident

SRI AMAN: Two friends were killed while four others severely injured when a car collided head-on with a pick-up truck at the Batu Lintang junction here today.

Those who died during the accident are identified Patrick Tumba Migik, 49, who is the driver of the Proton Waja, and his passenger friend, Alexander Jantom, 27.

Patrick died on the spot in the 1pm accident while Alexander was pronounced dead when he was being treated at the Sri Aman Hospital here.

Two other passengers of the car, Romauldo Rayung Robert and Louis Costner Endang Julius Mamba, aged 20 and 23 respectively, suffered serious head and bodily injuries.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Triton identified as Liak Jin Soon, 47 dan and passenger, David Ng Sen Gan, 40, were also seriously injured during the accident.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the Proton Waja was heading towards Sri Aman from nearby Betong before it collided with the pick-up truck, which was coming from the opposite direction.

“A total of 11 men from the Sri Aman Fire and Rescue station was despatched to the scene upon receiving a distress call at 1.40pm.

“When our rescuers arrived at the scene, they found that the driver of the Proton Waja was pinned to his seat and died at the scene.”
