PENAMPANG: A retail shop owner here was detained yesterday for molesting his 14-year-old worker here.
During the incident at noon, the girl who had just started work three days earlier, was cleaning the store room at the shop.
The man, who is a Pakistani, approached the victim, embraced her from behind and started to molest her.
The victim lodged a police report on the same day.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Haris Ibrahim said police immediately detained the man.
“The Pakistani in his 20s was detained for molesting the teenage worker.
“He was remanded under Section 14(a) Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,” he said when met today.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, he said a security guard was detained for raping a 14-year-old girl.
“The 19-year-old man was arrested after the victim’s father found the suspect in the girl’s bedroom.
“The case is being investigated under Section 376 of Penal Code for raping,” he added.
